The longest seaside pier in Germany

 

The famous seaside town, Usedom, is a popular holiday destination known for its imperial architecture, including the longest seaside pier in Germany. Usedom is an island in the southern Baltic Sea, boasting some of the best seaside resorts in Germany and Poland. The island is known as the imperial seaside town, famed for its heavily adorned ancient manors and houses, many of which were built by the imperial German family. Lots of seaside entertainment makes this Pomeranian town a popular holiday destination. Heringsdorf Pier

The Heringsdorf Pier was built from wood during 1891 to 1893. At this time it was 500 metres long, but it was extended 10 years later to 508 metres and it’s the longest of its kind in Europe. More info

The Beach Promenade is one of the longest in Europe extending a total of 12 kilometres. It runs through Bansin to Heringsdorf and finally Ahlbeck before reaching the Polish Border. The promenade has both a cycling and a walking path to watch the sea view. More info
